Worlds Apart

"Worlds Apart" is a very short, first person grid-based dungeon crawler, inspired by titles such as Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, Lands of Lore & Might and Magic 3-5!

It was made in a week for DCJAM 2023, however with a plan to further build around it. It's powered by the custom-made Jolt3D! game engine which is also used on The Darkness Below (in-progress).

Controls

• W = forward
• A = left
• S = backward
• D = right
• Q = turn left
• E = turn right
• N = take screenshot
• ESC = exit the game

Troubleshooting

• Problem: on Linux, the game doesn't run, showing some missing libraries. Solution: The game is built on a 32-bit arch linux OS. To allow running on other systems like a 64-bit linux, it requires the 32-bit libraries as well. Run these:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get install multiarch-support
sudo apt-get install libxcursor1:i386
sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-glx:i386
sudo apt-get install libopenal1:i386

Install instructions

• extract the archive
• click "start_win.exe" (windows) or "./start_linux" (linux) to start the game
